Two trees at the edge of woods just in front of the house: a younger single trunk tree and a older double trunked tree.

20171126 Clearing midway along east border Cleared some autumn olive; pruned a nice shaped tree (maple??) and painted trees. Identified two Juglandaceae: Juglans nigra plus a stand of Simaroubaceae: Ailanthus altissima (tree of heaven) .

2017070x found a green nut on the ground. Next year hunt green nuts for Walnut preserves!
20170606 limbed up the younger tree. Impressive how far the leaves pull the branches down.
