It is hardy in many areas, but cannot survive below 17 degrees Fahrenheit; in these areas, plant rosemary in containers and bring inside during the winter. If the rosemary has sustained damage from a freeze, wait until all danger of frost has passed before pruning. -- http://homeguides.sfgate.com/prune-rosemary-after-freeze-20986.html

20180414 had pulled out very dead Lamiaceae-Nepetoideae-Mentheae: Rosmarinus officinalis and replaced with new plant from Feed & Seed.
20180218 Got large, but January freeze seems to have really given it a hard time. Might be dead/dying.

20170402 $6 at Lowes "Tuscan blue" in 2.5 qt pot. Planted at N end of HK where afternoon sun gets around the house (in the summer?). Called on 20170403 and was told consumption warning was due to nursery growth and "should be OK in a year". Decided that smaller plants might not be as large in one year.
